Tom Frye
Vocals, Guitars, Harmonicas, Keys, Mandolin
In addition to being the Father and front-man of the Frye Family Band, Tom is a published author, speaker, and worship leader. Tom is passionate about using his own story of brokenness and redemption to help equip families to thrive. Tom also enjoys gardening, the out-doors and spending time with his wife and children. Tom also has an appreciation for a warm cup of dark coffee and reading, some of his favorite authors are Brennan Manning, Glenn Beck and Donald Miller. He also has a particular interest in history, especially biographies about Native Americans. As you might imagine Tom enjoys a wide range of musicians, from Christian artists including Rich Mullins, Mitch McVicker, and Andrew Peterson, to songwriters such as John Prine, John Mellencamp, Paul Simon, Five for Fighting and Jason Mraz. And anyone who knows Tom would attest to the fact that the list would incomplete without the mention of classic-rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd. Tom is a graduate of Ball State University, which is also where he met Lisa and learned to play guitar.
Lisa Frye
Auxiliary Percussion, Inspiration
After spending seventeen years as a stay-at-home/homeschool mom, wife and mother, Lisa now works as a Social Worker. When traveling with the Family, you will usually find Lisa at the merch table, though she does occasionally speak as part of the Family to Family Events, and (with much coaxing) will join the family to play percussion on a song or two. She also has been involved in a few stage productions (Secret Garden, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, & I’ll Be Home for Christmas) though she is much more comfortable behind the scenes. Besides spending time with her husband and children, she also enjoys gardening, ballroom dancing, backyard bonfires, and sports, including church softball, volleyball and jogging. Lisa is a graduate of Ball State University with a degree in social work.
Kaylyn Frye Degler
Vocals, Upright Bass, Bass Guitar & Rhythm Guitar
The oldest of the three Frye siblings, Kaylyn is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she studied Music Business. Though not actively touring with the band, Kaylyn still performs with the band on occasion. She and her husband Kody live in Nashville where Kaylyn is employed at a booking agency. Kaylyn also enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, playing games (her favorites are Dutch Blitz and Phase 10), campfires, reading biographies,and she has a contagious giggle.
Maggie Frye Neal
Vocals, Keys, Recorder, Ukulele, Hammer & Lap Dulcimer
Maggie is currently enrolled in her senior year of college at Taylor University where she is studying professional writing. Additionally Maggie has also studied songwriting at Hillsong College in Sydney, Australia. Maggie also enjoys, dancing, attending concerts and movies, especially with her new husband Seth, who is also the Frye Family Band's newest member.
Jonathan Frye
Vocals, Bass Guitar, Rhythm & Lead Guitar, Keys, Recorder, Ukulele, Drums & Percussion, Tech
Jonathon, the youngest of the Frye siblings, is currently enrolled at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, where he is studying music business. His two favorite activities are playing music and anything to do with football. Like his sisters, Jonathon has also performed in several theatrical productions including lead roles as Jojo in Suessical the Musical, the young Patrick Dennis in Mame and as Fyedka in Fiddler on the Roof. He enjoys playing intramural sports, board games, working outside with his dad; gardening, cutting wood and even changing the oil in the family van. Jonathon also loves watching movies and making people laugh.
Seth Neal
Vocals, Bass Guitar, Rhythm Guitar
Seth joined the Frye Family Band in the summer of 2017 and officially joined the Frye family as it's newest member as he and Maggie Frye married in January, 2018. Additionally, he is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Psychology at Ball State University. Seth is also an avid concert-goer and his favorite band to catch live is Need to Breathe.
